After 20 incredible years, joyfully serving individuals and families in the Twin Ports area providing craniosacral/fascia therapy services, Debra McLaughlin of Northern lights Wellness is retiring from clinical practice. For now, Deb will be taking time to teach, write, raise their puppy, connect with family and friends, and enjoy new adventures with her husband of over 32 years
“It is with immensely mixed emotions that I make this announcement. I have struggled with what to do next with the ups and downs of the pandemic, of life, and of family needs. With the additional flexibility this time afforded, I very much appreciated being able to be fully present to close family and friends in very profound ways. I was deeply grateful to be able to provide end-of-life care for our dearest friend in 2021.
As you may know, I closed my office in Downtown Duluth during the peak of the pandemic. Each time I decided to look for a new office, something has emerged to get in the way. In the past, I have often joked that I need the universe to ‘hit me up-side the head with a 2 X 4 to get the message.’ Hopefully, I have learned a little by now, so I am taking this as a sign to make a change in direction.
I will be continuing my studies and growth as a practitioner and a human. My teaching has continued in a limited way throughout this crazy pandemic time and I look forward to expanding this as travel becomes more available. It is also exciting to have the space and energy to work with our state midwifery associations and other organizations that I feel passionate about supporting.
It has been a privilege to work with each and every client over the last 20 years of the time of Northern Light Wellness. You have all taught me so much, enriched my life more than I can say, and I will miss you. Please know that I am still here and would love to hear from you. I am happy to be available to you for phone consults and will do my best to help you find whatever support is needed.”
Northern Lights Wellness will no longer schedule regular office hours or virtual visits as of March 15, 2022.

Hi Deb – Congratulations on your new adventure! I received your name from a friend of mine. My 17 year old daughter has had two rounds of encephalopathy within 3 weeks of each other. Doctors do not know why this has happened, her tests come back thus far that says she’s a healthy girl. She was hospitalized in Duluth and then at Mayo for 5 days. We are home and she is healing but we also have trauma we are working through. Would you be able to send me some resources or point me in a direction of someone else in our area that does Craniosacral therapy?
